Release 4.1 – Comparison tool for the Indexing v2 upgrade
New feature: The comparison tool for the Indexing v2 upgrade
Problem statement:
Some customers are still on Indexing v1 because they want to minimize impact to the business (at the cost of heavy performance issues for Confluence),
Some customers don’t want to migrate because older versions of requirements won’t be comparable with the new ones.
Solution:
We make it possible, for requirements still in Indexing v1 (whether before or after activating the v2), to preview what requirements will look like. As a side note, if we ever change the parsing in Indexing v2, it will also show v2-to-v2 differences,
We make it possible to upgrade past baselines to the new text, assuming that the page version that was snapshot for this baseline still exists.
See Comparison tool for the indexation v1-v2 for the documentation.

How to access the tool:
In the space tools: Space Tools menu (bottom-left of the gray sidebar) → Requirement Yogi → Indexing review,
In a page: Click the Yogi icon in the byline (top of the page) → “Compare the indexing version”
Notes to administrators
Risk assessment
In 4.1.0, we’ve merged a lot of invisible code for the UI, which bumps the risk of having a JS error somewhere. Please report any problem you see with the UI. The reason is we’re refactoring the UI to React in secret. It can be accessed at
/requirementyogi/space-tab.action?key=your-space-key
, and we’ll make it public in the next major version. The comparison tool is only available in 4.1.1,
In 4.1.1, there is a small change to the JSON of the search and traceability REST APIs, mostly for baselined requirements. See RY-1792 if interested.
No upgrade path from 2.x to 4.x.
Don’t forget to check out the announcement in Release 4.0 – Requirement types related to upgrading.
As a summary, please upgrade to the most recent 3.x version and wait for all ugprade tasks before using 4.x.
